Contributory Aged Parent Visa: Subclass 884 (Temporary: onshore) – 

This temporary visa is valid for two years and is valid for parents whose children are Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens Subclass 884 visas are expedited although at a higher cost. The temporary visa holder becomes entitled to permanent migration after two years.

Contributory Aged Parent Visa: Subclass 864 (onshore) – 

It is also intended for elderly parents whose children are permanent Australians or eligible New Zealand citizens. Compared to the previous category, it is more expensive and processed faster.

Contributory Parent Migrant Visa: Subclass 173 to 143 – 

This category of visa can be applied for before the expiry of the parent visa issued for a temporary stay. These immigration documents are allowed for ‘contributory parent immigrant visa’ applicants holding ‘contributory parent visa subclass 173’.

For parents outside the Australian Territory, the Immigration Service issues: Parent Migration Visa: subclass 103; Parent temporary visa: subclass 173; and parental migration visa subsidy: subclass 143.
