Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)
The Prospective Marriage 300 visa is designed for individuals who are employed by an Australian, permanent resident, or qualifying New Zealand citizen. This visa allows the holder to stay in Australia for up to nine months and apply for a spouse (subclass 820 and 801) visa during this period
Advantages of the Prospective Marriage Visa
As the holder of a prospective marriage license (subclass 300), you have the right to:
- Stay or visit Australia while the visa is valid
- Work and study in Australia at your own expense
- Leave and re-enter Australia several times
Note: New Zealand citizens must report to immigration authorities if they have a Prospective Marriage visa. Failure to do so could result in a subclass 444 visa being issued, which could complicate future spouse visa applications.
Family Members
You can include your dependent children or stepchildren with your application. Once approved, your family members will share your visa status and rights.
