New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship (Temporary) visa (subclass 461)
The New Zealand Citizen Family Relations (temporary) 461 visa is designed to remain in Australia for individuals who are:
- Not New Zealand citizens
- Qualifying family members by being a New Zealand citizen who is or is eligible to hold a special class visa (subclass 444), and travel with them to Australia.
This temporary visa allows you to stay in Australia for five years. Applicants can now apply for this visa in Australia or outside.
Advantages of Visa Subclass 461
461 visa holders are allowed to:
- Participate in business and educational activities in Australia
- Enter Australia repeatedly for up to five years from the date of the visa
Qualification Criteria
To qualify for this visa, you must be one of the following.
- Spouse of a New Zealand citizen
- A child, dependent child, or stepmother of the applicant or their spouse
Health & Character Requirements
- As part of the health requirements of the visa, you will need to provide proof of a medical examination within the past 12 months.
- Additionally, to meet the character requirement, you must provide police identification documents from any country where you have lived for at least 12 months in the last 10 years
Health Coverage
You need full reimbursement for medical expenses through Medicare, Australia’s national health system.
