Family Visa
The Australian Immigration Service has introduced family visas to reunite families. This visa allows spouses, parents, children and other family members to immigrate to Australia in certain circumstances. Sponsors must be eligible Australian, permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens.
Partner Category Visa
This group of visas allows a spouse or fiancé/bride to travel to Australia. Initially, it provides a temporary residence, which can become a permanent residence after a few years. Partner class visas include:
- Spouses or Common-law partners
- The engaged couple planning a wedding
- Of course, partners, and gender

Parental licenses are issued to employed and retired individuals. Initially issued temporarily, these visas can be converted to permanent residency upon request. The ‘Contributory Parental Visa’ offers expedited processing time at a higher cost.
Note: The number of parental licenses issued each year is limited, resulting in a waiting period.
Child Visa
Like parental visas, child visas are issued in different subcategories. They must be sponsored by a permanent parent, Australian citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen.
If the child is already in Australia, they may qualify as a permanent resident, a dependent child or an orphan relative. If visas such as child care visa, adoption visa and orphan visa are available outside Australia.
Other Family Members
Visas for siblings, dependent relatives, or dependents are initially temporary but can later be changed to permanent. The sponsorship must come from an Australian, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
